For this months’ column, we wish to motivate others to see the capacity in daily items. Not to take things for stated value, however to go on the journey of thinking of the possibilities. What other function could this item meet?
Re-imaging daily items may be among my preferred leisure activities. Thankfully, as the Creative Director at Pinch Food Design, I get to exercise this ability frequently. From trays to screens, we regularly attempt to surpass ourselves by developing special and wonderful food furnishings. Now, often times what we wish to accomplish does not exist, and we style items from scratch. This is likewise rather satisfying– to see a space and fill it with development. Other times, we come across an existing product, like a knob, or a bird feeder and state, “let’s put food on that!”
Here are a few of our preferred examples of things renewal:
BEFORE: ROIJÉ’S Dish of Desire Bird Feeder
AFTER: Bird Feeders suspended rearranged to serve soft shell mussel a la crème|friendly garlic bread|edible squid ink “shell”
